Yirgacheffe sits like an island in the middle of the Sidamo region of Southern Ethiopia. Arabica coffee originates in Ethiopia. According to popular legend an Ethiopian goat herd discovered coffee when he noticed how energised his flock became after eating the cherries of the coffee plant.

Yirgacheffe was recognised as a distinct coffee-producing area in the 1960s, noted for the exceptional citrus and floral flavours found in its washed coffees.

Grown at an altitude of 1770m-2200m (5790-7210ft), in the cup our single origin Yirgacheffe bean has bright acidity, medium body and marked Jasmine and floral flavours.
